A Meditation of Rest

Thank you for sharing a nugget of my quiet time this morning! There are times when after I thank the Lord for giving me a new day, He prompts me to read the Word (and maybe another inspired work) before leading me into prayer. Then I rise from bed to start my day. On others, a song comes to my heart, and I begin thanking the Lord and worshiping Him...and the Spirit leads me in doing whatever comes next. Then there are days when my heart is stirring as I open my eyes, and I thank God as I begin to pray...then I immediately pick up my pen to write inspired words, searching the Scriptures afterward to unlock "seeds" of wisdom I received. Today is one of those days. Would you pray with me?

Good morning, Lord.

Thank You for the gift of this new day.
For everything I love, that gives me joy.
And for the things I don't, that help me grow.
For You are forming Your image in me.
I love You.

Thank You for people who bless and give,
And for those who challenge and sharpen me.
For through them, You teach me
How to love like You do,
Beyond my limitations.

Thank You for giving me a heart that says yes
Even when my soul may want to say no,
For Your thoughts and ways are much higher
And You work all things together for my good.
I trust You.

Thank You, Lord, for life and all that comes with it.
For You are everything I need for life and godliness,
Because Your promises are true
And Your presence brings light, grace, and peace.
I worship You, Lord.

Amen.
