By Paula R. Bryant Within months of asking God to show me more, my husband and I were strongly compelled to start making weekend trips to attend our original home church in Dallas on Sundays. During that time, I had a stunning dream/vision that woke me up shaking with amazement. Without going into all of the details, I’ll just say that I immediately started praying for God to give me understanding—but it was obvious that I had been transported to a higher realm, and then almost immediately went to battle to take back something that I knew was mine. Something that had to do with writing. At that time, I wasn’t in a writing position professionally. There was no reason my mind would have generated what I saw and experienced. At a peak point during the “dream” conflict something really incredible happened, and I was startled to consciousness. I awakened sitting straight up in the bed, pointing my right index finger in the dark and speaking the last words I remembered saying in the dream/vision: “I bind you in the Name of Jes…” It was mind boggling. Thankfully, because I was in the habit of writing in my journal regularly, as soon as I came out of prayer I grabbed my journal (which I kept beside my bed) and began writing every detail of my other-worldly encounter. What was God showing me, and did it have anything to do with our weekend trips? God’s answer soon began to unfold after a church service in Dallas when the Chief-of-Staff asked if we could meet briefly before our family headed back to Houston. During that meeting, she let me know they were interested in hiring me, and then asked me the strangest question I’d ever been asked in a job interview. What would I want to do there if we returned to Dallas? Something else she said as we talked seemed equally as odd: “You know,” she shared, “Sometimes people just don’t show up for work.” Huh? I thought. I was stunned. Normally, employers knew exactly what they were looking for, and secondly, what was the “not showing up for work” comment about? But the peace of God wrapped around me like a warm blanket. I also knew deep in my heart that I wasn’t supposed to answer her quickly. So, I told her that I would pray about it and get back to her…which led to the next step on the new path God was supernaturally unfolding before my eyes. Now, let’s pause here and talk about YOU. When you have a moment of IncepSpiration (from my blog entry on 3/28), God begins to lead you on a new path--your Path of Inspiration. And this path is definitely not average or “normal,” especially to your mind. If you read my last blog entry and started identifying your milestone moments of IncepSpiration, then you’ve probably thought about things that started to happen afterward. Did you keep saying yes to God by seeking Him daily and DOING the things He was showing you to do?
When you receive God’s vision it is passive at first, but then it becomes active. It must become active. You must ACT in faith on what He’s revealed to you by following His Path of Inspiration and taking each step as the vision unfolds. So, let me ask you—are you receiving God’s vision for your life? Are you walking on your Path of Inspiration? If so, then you’ve had some unequivocal experiences and can relate to what I’m sharing. But if not, don’t beat yourself up. You can simply ask God to help you SAY YES and receive His vision for you…actively, fully, and completely. Always remember: As long as you have breath you can say yes. Each time you open your eyes to a new day you can receive God’s vision for your life. You have been uniquely equipped to walk on the path HE created just for you.
